Band London was founded by Cliff Basten, Jim Andrews and Ben Basten in 2002.
Prior to forming Band, Cliff had spent 30 years as the driving force behind Basten Greenhill Andrews (BGA) one of the UK's foremost independent design agencies. In 1998 BGA ranked in the TOP 10 of the Design Week Agency big list with billing in excess of £20m. His early career path was spent at Rediffusion TV and LWT working on a number of well known TV shows including Ready, Steady, Go and Weekend World. He studied graphics at the London College of Design.
Jim is a former co-founder of BGA and Bean Andrews Norways Cramphorn (BANC) and has spent the last 2 decades working as a brand consultant on ground breaking communication projects with a select group of major blue chip brands. Jim was formally Creative Director at Underline and studied Fine Art and Graphics at the Medway College of Art & Design. Jim is also a Senior Visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Business at the Cass Business School.
Ben left school and college with a Diploma and A-Levels in Art, Design and Technology. He would cut his teeth working at BGA for a number of years before turning freelance to develop his passion for music, digital design and interactive media. In 2000 Ben released a record to critical acclaim on a Sony Independent label and co-founded Sound Of The Web, an online Sound Effects and Music library. Ben is also a former Karting Champion with a passion for all things automotive.
In late 2001 Jim, Cliff and Ben joined forces to strengthen their joint offering and Band London was born.
The definition of Band; a group of people who share the same interests or beliefs, or who have joined together for a special purpose.
That was, and continues to be our philosophy, the joining of different people to form a whole. A select group of people with multiple skillsets, giving us unrivalled strength and experience in our industry. Our name also has a clever duality to it. The joining of Basten and ANDrews.
